Pagosa Springs, Colorado-Archuleta County Senior Services (Silver Foxes Den) announced this week that it has received a $15,000 Daniels Fund grant to support its two nutrition programs, home delivered and congregate meals.
 The Silver Foxes Den meal programs are more than a meal. Through their extended family they assist older adults, age 60+, retain their independence and remain in their homes and communities. Meals are served in Pagosa Springs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for a suggested donation of $3.00, the cost to provide one meal is $11.51.
Hot, home delivered meals are available to the homebound within our boundaries while frozen meals are available for the more rurally isolated. Meals are served in Arboles the first and third Thursdays each month.
Door to door transportation service is available to help seniors get around town and to the Senior Center; the suggested donation is $2.00.
“The grant will enable our program to continue at the same level of service,” said Musetta Wollenweber, Director.
Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need, established the Daniels Fund to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. For more information, please visit the fund website.
