On Sunday, June 14, the  Pagosah Unitarian Fellowship will hold a Coming of Age Ceremony, presided over by Religious Education Coordinator, DeAnna Hoyle. This service is a tradition in many Unitarian Universalist congregations. Ms. Hoyle points out that “By honoring our youth in this multigenerational service, we celebrate their transition from childhood to youth. We acknowledge the work they have done leading to their understanding of our faith on a deeper level, and a realization of some of their own beliefs.’’

The three "UUth" who will be sharing this ceremony through credos, poems, and artwork are: Marley Weaver-Gabel, Will Smock-Egan and Maya Novak-Herzog. (Connor Burkesmith is also coming of age, but is not able to attend.)

The celebration service will continue with special refreshments, then move into the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Annual Meeting. This meeting is open to all, but only members of record may vote.

Designing a ritual of your own can be an engaging way to experience everyday activities at their fullest. Since walking is a ritual in many religious traditions, the Children’s Religious Exploration will take a walk, exploring the ways it can be fun and meaningful.

The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the Fire Station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.
