The Archuleta County Senior Center is pleased to be offering a new class:  Ageless Yoga for folks over 60.

Ageless Yoga makes your body fitter, the mind calmer and more relaxed. Yoga is also beneficial in the prevention and control of common health and emotional problems that is linked with aging. It helps you in becoming more in touch with yourself and your body enabling you to accept who you are and the state you are in which creates a positive approach in life.

Elizabeth Strong integrates stories, humor, and a gentle spirit along with thoughtful and profoundly simple techniques to make yoga accessible for all ages and varieties of physical conditions. She provides excellent guidance to improve health and vitality with chair yoga, also known as seated yoga. People with injuries and stiff muscles are welcome however, be sure to speak to your doctor before trying yoga, especially if you suffer from any chronic conditions or are very inactive. Those with spinal disk problems or glaucoma should take special care.
 
Chairs will be provided to those wishing to use them. For folks who prefer to work on the floor, Elizabeth will bring lone-out mats, but it is preferable to have you own. Wheel chaired individuals welcomed.
 
Elizabeth is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys being with people older than herself. She has been practicing Yoga for 20 years and teaching for 10 years. Honoring the Spirit and Wisdom of those around her is an integral part of Elizabeth's Yoga Practice and personal beliefs.
