CORE, the region's largest business association dedicated to the promotion of more environmentally and socially responsible business practices, will host a CleanTech Forum on Thursday, July 9 at the Crowne Plaza Denver Hotel on Glenarm Place in downtown Denver from 11:30am. to 4:30pm.

The invitation-only Forum will bring together members of the cleantech industry in Colorado to hear the initial results of the Colorado Cleantech Census, which is the first phase in CORE's Cleantech Cluster Analysis, the first comprehensive study of this emerging industry in the State.

"The purpose of the Cleantech Cluster Analysis," said Graham Russell, Executive Director of CORE, "is to define the scope of cleantech in Colorado.  We'll analyze different sub-sectors, and establish a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing young cleantech companies as they strive to grow in the Colorado business environment. The study will seek to identify policy, regulatory and financial initiatives that could form the basis of a well-defined strategy for State and local governments to provide support for this emerging industry sector and encourage its growth in the State."

The event will start with a lunch at which Andre Pettigrew, Executive Director of Denver's Office of Economic Development, will present his views on the importance of nurturing a robust cleantech industry as part of the region's economic development strategy. Following Mr. Pettigrew, Jane Evenson of Evenson & Associates will summarize her initial findings from nearly 400 detailed online surveys and extensive interviews with cleantech leaders across the State.

The Forum will conclude with a series of moderated roundtable focus groups at which cleantech industry leaders will begin the process of discussing what's working for them in the Colorado business environment and actions they would like to see taken to support their particular sub-sector of the cleantech industry. CORE expects to hold similar focus group sessions in the future.

Sponsors for the Colorado CleanTech Cluster Analysis include: Patton Boggs, LLP; Sheridan Ross, P.C.; Faegre & Benson; Morrison & Foerster, LLP; Holme Roberts & Owen, LLP, and Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP.
