Clavier Trio to Perform at BootJack Ranch |

Music in the Mountains will bring the best of chamber music to Pagosa Springs at 6:30pm. on Friday, July 17 amid the spectacular beauty of BootJack Ranch. The Clavier Trio will be performing works by Russian composer Anton Arensky and early romantic composer Franz Schubert. The performance by the Clavier Trio was considered to be one of the highlights of the 2007 Music in the Mountains Festival and their return provides another opportunity to enjoy the music of this critically acclaimed Trio. The tickets for this performance are $40 and $6 for students under 15.
The Clavier Trio features violinist Arkady Fomin, cellist Jesus Castro-Balbi and pianist David Korevaar. Born after a spontaneous chamber music session at the 1997 Music in the Mountains Festival in Durango, Colorado, the Clavier Trio has played to critical acclaim at Carnegie Hall and performed in the inaugural Dallas Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series at the Nasher Sculpture Center. The Clavier Trio served as Trio-In-Residence at Fort Lewis College, Colorado and presently is Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Texas at Dallas. They will be performing Anton Arensky’s Piano Trio in D minor, Opus 32 and Franz Schubert’s Piano Trio in B flat Major, Op. 99, D. 898.
This festival season promises a wide variety of musical delights, sure to please the tastes of any music lover. In addition to chamber music concerts, this year’s schedule includes Texas singer-songwriters Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, a Pops Orchestra concert and Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul.
Concert tickets for Pagosa Springs’ eighth season of Music in the Mountains are available at the Chamber of Commerce office located at 402 San Juan Street. Tickets are also available online at the Music in the Mountains website. Festival enthusiasts are encouraged to purchase tickets early to obtain preferred reserved seating. All concerts will begin at 6:30pm.
Thanks to the generosity of David and Carol Brown, music lovers again will have the privilege of experiencing Music in the Mountains under the tent at BootJack Ranch. This beautiful venue, a showcase for Pagosa’s glorious mountain scenery, serves to enhance these spectacular outdoor classical and contemporary musical performances. BootJack Ranch is located 11.5 miles east of the junction of Hwy. 84 and 160, and is .8 miles from mile marker 155.
 Festival orchestra members are brought to Music in the Mountains from among the country’s finest orchestras, each player a highly skilled performer in his or her own right. Music director and conductor Guillermo Figueroa also serves as the music director of the New Mexico Symphony and is the principal guest conductor of the Puerto Rico Symphony. With such extraordinary talent on hand, Music in the Mountains enthusiasts are ensured of another outstanding season of beautiful music, worthy of our glorious Pagosa Springs panorama.

Music in the Mountains is a non-profit organization headquartered in Durango. A local volunteer steering committee that includes Moomaw (chair), Mary Jo Coulehan, Mary Hart, Carole Howard, Teresa Huft, Kate Kelley, Ed Lowrance, Valley Lowrance, Margaret Kleiner, Sally Neel and Deborah Schulte organizes concerts and other Music in the Mountains events in Pagosa Springs, including special free performances at our schools.

A 10 percent discount is available for groups of 25 or more. In addition, there is a 10 percent discount for four or more chamber and orchestra concerts purchased at the same time. Discounted tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce office. |
