Trenholm Pastels
Lorraine Trenholm, Yaking in the Animas III, pastel on paper.
"This is an opportunity for each of you to free yourself from the bonds of convention, to push the edges of your creativity, to stretch your wings and fly," promises Trenholm.  "We will test the limits of our paper, our materials and our imaginations! Each day, we’ll begin with an introduction of materials and methods, including creating textured paper and applying gold leaf. Then we’ll proceed to 'hands on' experimenting and the application to each person’s own work."

Trenholm was born in New York where she lived until completing studies as a painting major at Pratt Institute.  She has painted and drawn throughout her life, depicting Cape Cod, the Southwest, animal artistry — doing pastels,
oils and collage.

Trenholm helped found the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and was Juried in as a Signature member its first year. A member of “21 in Truro,” Chatham Creative Arts Center, Pastel Society of NM and a Signature member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, she has won numerous awards and participated in several one woman shows.

Her work has been published in Lois Griffel’s Painting the Impressionist Landscape and Kennedy Publishing’s Best of America - Pastel Artists and Artisans, Vol 1.

Trenholm's workshop will be held Thursday, July 16 and Friday July 17, 9am-4pm, with a half hour break for lunch each day.  Workshop participants will need to need to brings their own lunch.   Please call PSAC 264-5020 to register and obtain a supply list.
