Only two weeks to go until a very special weekend for book lovers, as the annual Friends of the Library book sale is being be held July 17-18. The annual meeting, potluck and advance sale to members takes place Friday from 6 to 9pm. The public book sale is Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
Both events are at the Community Center.
New members will be warmly welcomed Friday evening and you may pay your dues at the door. Memberships are $15 for an individual, $25 for a family and $100 for a lifetime individual.
If you want to attend the annual meeting, please call the library at 264-2208 to let us know what you are bringing to the potluck. After eating and a very short meeting, you get first dibs on the books on sale. On Saturday, books go on sale to the general public.
About 3,600 books will be available from many genres including cookbooks, mysteries, children’s, collectibles, science fiction, Native American, religious/spiritual, westerns, history and home improvement. The Friends also will have the Reading Woman note cards, postcards and journals for sale, as well as book bags and bookmarks showcasing local scenery and events.
The Friends of the Library organization’s annual book sale is a bonanza for book lovers and library patrons. The library raises money for new books by selling those no longer needed and you can add books to your personal library at very low prices. A perfect win-win situation!
