Opening Reception for the Regional Art Show at the Artisans of the Southwest Gallery will take place today, Friday, July 3, from 4-6:30pm.
The gallery is located at 175 Pagosa Street (Aspen Plaza). Regional Art Show artists, along with Artisans of the Southwest artists Wen Saunders (b&w and color photography), Sandy Applegate (watercolor, pen & ink), Guy Schmickle (digital color landscape), Jo Carole (pastel & watercolor), Greg Hudson (kiln fired stained glass), T. Cutter Collins (photography & western bolo jewelry), and Kent Shafer (oils) will be in attendance. Music will be provided by Pamela Novack.
Complimentary appetizers will be served. Reception wine flights and discount wine tasting will also be available.
The event will be preceded by “Art in the Courtyard” demonstrations by local award-winning painter Sandy Applegate from 1-4pm. Applegate will be painting in the courtyard, and her painting will be part of a Quick Draw (auctioned to the highest bidder) at the end of the day.
On Monday, July 6, T. Cutter Collins will be carving wooden walking sticks in the Aspen Plaza courtyard. Stop by to see his art and enjoy a glass of wine while watching Cutter at work! His art will be part of a Quick Draw (auctioned to the highest bidder) at the end of the day.
A unique opportunity to experience two local artists — and art in the making!
Artisans of the Southwest Gallery will award prizes for the Community Art Show. Peoples Choice Award ($175) will be selected by patrons during the show's opening night and visiting the gallery through July 10 (and announced July 11).
Best of Show ($75) will be selected and judged by Artisans of the Southwest Gallery artisans who include Wen Saunders (Photography), Kent Shafer (oil), and Sandy Applegate (watercolor, pen & ink), T. Cutter Collins (jewelry & photography), and Guy Schmickle (digital landscape photography).
