Bob and Cairo Enjoy a Magazine
Carole Howard | 7/3/09
Bob Goubitz, general manager of Avjet Corp., and the airport's pet African gray parrot Cairo, admire the 8-page article with multiple full-color photos featuring Pagosa Springs in the May/June issue of Pilot Getaways magazine.

Highly complimentary of our community, the article is titled "Pagosa Springs, Colorado: Soak in The Scenery."  It praised our spectacular scenery, intriguing history, abundance of year-round outdoor activities and wildlife, plus our hot springs, resorts and hotels, restaurants and art museums.  Continued...

The article raved, "Few know of the former frontier village of Pagosa Springs where admiring the scenery is taken to new heights."  The author, Tamara Brown, visited Pagosa two years ago, attending a Chamber of Commerce Sundowner, visiting with local residents, experiencing a variety of businesses, and enjoying many tourist sites.

Because this magazine caters to private pilots looking for recreational destinations to visit, the writer evaluated the Stevens Field local facilities and community attractions and praised them as key reasons for recommending Pagosa.

The article stated:  "Be it a family vacation, romantic getaway, or mountain adventure, Pagosa Springs delights and surprises.... It's hard to beat Pagosa Springs when it comes to Rocky Mountain highs."
