Snowfall amounts at Colorado Ski Country USA resorts are inching up the snow stake as winter storms make their way across the state. The snow started falling last week and accumulations from Thursday through the weekend have reached five and six feet at some resorts. Continued...

Resorts in the southwest and central parts of the state saw the heaviest snows with Silverton Mountain recording 81 inches — more than six feet — over the past four days. Nearby Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort received more than 55 inches, Wolf Creek 50 and Telluride 34.
 The storms also left their mark at resorts in the Central Rockies. Crested Butte Mountain Resort received 25 inches of fresh powder, Monarch 17.50, Snowmass 20, Aspen Highlands 14, Buttermilk 13, Aspen Mountain 10, and Sunlight 19.50. On the edge of the Western Slope, Powderhorn was the recipient of 21 inches of new snow.
The storms also reached northern and Front Range resorts with both Steamboat and Ski Cooper receiving nine inches, and Loveland and Winter Park receiving nearly seven inches. Copper Mountain added a fresh six inches to its base and Arapahoe Basin added five.
SolVista Basin, Howelsen Hill, Eldora and Echo Mountain also each reported new snow.
Weather forecasters are calling for continued snow storms in the Colorado Mountains and high country. The arrival of the new powder is perfectly timed with the start of the SnowSports Industries America Snow Show this week in Denver. As a welcome to Snow Show attendees, Colorado Ski Country USA resorts have extended free and discounted lift tickets for three days of skiing/riding before or after the show.
