Marketing Help is on the Way
Patsy Lindblad | 3/9/10
In today’s unsettled economic environment, bringing customers or clients in the door is a critical success factor—whether you’re a small business, a nonprofit, or an independent. Marketing can help you attract new or keep existing customers. It is the only business expense that impacts the “top line”— your revenue, that is. The Marketing for Smarties Challenge makes marketing accessible and affordable for those who know little about it, have the least time for it, and yet have the most need for it.

Marketing for Smarties is a training program that uses the same marketing principles and tools that guide major corporations, but simplifies them for the small business. During the course, business owners receive personal coaching and peer feedback as they develop basic, enduring marketing and sales processes and a simple, actionable, and affordable marketing plan tailored to their specific needs.

Investing time in the Marketing for Smarties Challenge and making the commitment to follow through enables business owners to better position their companies in the marketplace, to improve their marketing and sales know-how, to grow their businesses, and to become marketing thinkers and doers.

The Marketing for Smarties Challenge is offered right here in Pagosa Springs. This spring’s workshop will feature a series of four classes scheduled three weeks apart. The program is offered by the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center, with sponsorship by the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce, Fort Lewis College, and Region9.

The sequential classes will be held March 24, April 13, May 4, and May 26 at the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce conference room from 6:00 PM to 9:30pm.  The certified coach for the course is local business consultant, Patsy Lindblad.

One full scholarship is available from Region 9 for those who apply by March 18. Two half scholarships are available to qualified candidates that finish the course—one from The Lindblad Group, and one from SHY RABBIT CONTEMPORARY ARTS specifically for a local artist. An added benefit is that completion of this Marketing for Smarties workshop qualifies participants for Town of Pagosa Springs economic stimulus tax credits.

The fee for the course is $149, including book and all materials. Seating is limited to ten participants, so register early.  Don’t wait to start growing your business. Contact Patsy Lindblad at (970) 731-9074 or email her at patsylindblad@att.net.
