The Open Shutter Gallery, 735 Main Ave. Durango is excited to present its first annual international juried exhibit, titled “EXPOSURE”.

Fifty-two photographers from four countries will exhibit their black & white, color, and alternative process photographs in the gallery. The images for the exhibit were juried and chosen by the Open Shutter. The awards including the Best of Show, Best of Color, Best of Black & White as well as 7 excellence awards were then chosen by Phil Borges. Phil Borges is internationally recognized as a leading documentary photographer. Through his exhibits, books and multimedia projects, he strives to create a heightened understanding of issues faced by people in the developing world. He has published four books, Enduring Spirit, Tibetan Portrait, The Gift, and Women Empowered. Phil has exhibited two different bodies of work at the Open Shutter Gallery. Continued...
Open Shutter Gallery, in Durango, Colorado, opened for business in August, 2001. Since then they have exhibited over 100 locally, nationally, and internationally recognized photographers. Many of the exhibits promote an awareness of important humanitarian and conservation issues. In June 2008, the gallery moved to its current location on Main Avenue and is proud to be solar powered.
Please join us Friday, March 26 from 5:00 – 9:00pm for the opening reception and to welcome many of the photographers, including Jan-Oliver Wenzel, traveling all the way from Munich, Germany for this event.
The award winners will be announced at the opening.
