Get Your Organic Coffee Here
Rod Proffitt | 3/16/10
Please let me introduce you to the newest civic organization in Pagosa Springs — the Pagosa Mountain Morning Rotary Club.  We meet every Wednesday morning on the bar side of the Buffalo Inn at 7:00am.

As with most small clubs, we are seeking members so we welcome visitors to check us out.  However, the main reason for this article is not memberships but something even more warm and delightful: coffee.

Our club was fortunate to be selected to test market a new fundraising strategy.  We received lots of Green Mountain Coffee in 10 oz. bags in four different flavors. It is organic ground coffee, and reviews so far have been very positive. The cost is $10.00 per bag, and are available from any member of the club.  There is the House Blend, which is full-bodied; the Sumatran Reserve, which is heavier; the Rain Forest Nut with tastes of vanilla, caramel and cashew; and the House Blend Decaf.

We want your feedback on these coffees, but mostly we want you to support our many projects by buying this great tasting coffee.

We have been fortunate to be able to support many local projects on our own and in cooperation with the Noon club. Among those many projects have been our support for exchange students.  We have brought two exchange students here; one from France and the other from Taiwan.  We have also sponsored sending Liam Frey to Romania for a year of study abroad.  We have also funded scholarships, the high school prom party, a family at Christmas, and so many other projects.

Rotary is always looking for ways to serve this community.

Our coffee fundraiser is a one-time event so no one is going to get solicited to buy more coffee in coming months. The good part is that every dime in sales stays with our local club to carry on the many civic projects the club is involved in.

The bad news is we only have until the end of the month to sell this coffee!  Please order yours today and bask in the knowledge you have benefited this community while you enjoy a really good cup of coffee. Thanks.

Call me at (970) 903-9314 or check out our website to order from any member of the morning club. To find our contact information please go to the website.
