Nello’s Bistro, one of Pagosa’s finer uptown restaurants, will be celebrating the hard-working employees at our neighborhood ski area, Wolf Creek Ski Area, with a special party on Saturday, April 3 from 7 until 11pm.

“We just wanted to celebrate the end of a another great ski season, and thank all the staff at Wolf Creek for their friendliness and hard work in keeping the ski area operating this year,” says Nello’s owner Daniela Croce Carr.  Continued...

One of Pagosa's most popular rock bands, Rockola Deluxe, will be providing the dance tunes at Nello's "Wolf Creek End of Season Party" on Saturday, April 3.  The band specializes in classic '60s and '70s rock 'n' roll tunes.
Wolf Creek Ski Area, located at the top of Wolf Creek Pass about 18 miles east of downtown Pagosa Springs, is one of Colorado’s oldest ski resorts, celebrating 70 years of “epic powder sking” this 2009-2010 season.  “Our trademark is friendly employees and abundant, light powder snow,” states the company’s website — although a more commonly quoted motto is “The Most Snow in Colorado.”  Snowfall so far this season at Wolf Creek has been 407 inches, with a midway base depth of 112 inches.

By comparison, other Colorado ski resorts are posting base depths of, for example, 45 inches (Keystone), 47 inches (Steamboat), and 55 inches (Aspen Mountain).  The only ski area posting a deeper base is the (somewhat experimental) ski area in Silverton, with 125 inches.

The Nello’s party — which is open to all Wolf creek employees and their families, as well as to the general public — will feature specially price pasta dishes, $3 draft beers, $4 house wines, $5 Margaritas, and live music by one of Pagosa’s most popular rock bands, Rockola Deluxe.

The party is slated for Saturday, April 3 from 7 until 11pm.

“Come hungry, thirsty, and with your dancing shoes on,” says Daniela.  “Let’s end this ski season in style!”

Nello's Bistro & Espresso Bar is located in the City Market shopping center, at the northeast end right next to ALCO. For more information about Nello’s, visit their website.
