The Durango Cancer Center, located in the Mercy Medical Plaza, has been serving the community since 2006. Well-trained American Cancer Society volunteers provide information, materials and services about cancer and treatment which benefit patients, their families, and their loved ones.
As cancer patients cope with a cancer diagnosis, we understand how important it is that we are easily accessible to them, to meet their needs.
The Cancer Resource Center services include Reach to Recovery, a program for recently diagnosed breast cancer patients, Road to Recovery, providing transportation for cancer patients in three counties to and from related medical/treatment appointments, lodging for individuals undergoing cancer treatment and traveling to treatment, Women’s Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado, serving men and women in Southwest Colorado, and numerous Support Groups for patients and their families.

The American Cancer Society is proud of the progress we’ve made in our fight against cancer. Our 2015 goal is to decrease cancer mortality by 50%, reduce cancer incidence rates by 25%, and measurably improve the quality of life of all cancer survivors.
The American Cancer Society 2010 Facts and Figures indicate that an estimated 21,340 will be newly diagnosed with cancer in Colorado this year, and an estimated 6,880 deaths will occur in 2010 due to cancer.
