Pagosa Nordic to Host Free Ski Clinic

The Pagosa Nordic Club will host another FREE Learn to X-C Ski Clinic this Saturday February 12, at the Coyote Hill Nordic trails, located 6.5 miles north on Piedra Road from Hwy 160, one half mile north of North Pagosa Blvd. The clinic starts at 9:45am and will last two hours providing a great opportunity to learn skate skiing or classic cross country skiing techniques for beginners and intermediates.

Please be prepared to start at 9:45am with all your equipment. All Local ski shops are offering discounted rentals for this clinic, just mention you are attending the Pagosa Nordic Club's free learn to X-C ski clinic. There are no restroom facilities at this location, so please plan ahead.

You can RSVP by sending us an email at PagosaNordicClub@Yahoo.Com and let us know you want to attend this free clinic, however if you forget to RSVP, just show up by 9:45am.

Also, mark your calendars for the 2011 Winterfest Nordic Ski Races, February 18-20. This year's events include a Kids race and Moonrise Soup and Chili Ski Social on Friday, February 18; mock biathlon race, sprint race and relay race on Saturday February 19; and distance races and awards on February 20.

Race divisions includes a kids division, citizens skate ski or classic ski division and a competitive skate or classic ski division. Races will be scored individually and combined for awards. The Friday kids race is scheduled for the elementary school and the Saturday and Sunday races will be on the Kuhn ranch, 8 miles north on Piedra Road.

The Pagosa Nordic Club  is a non profit, 100% volunteer organization with a mission “To enhance winter recreational opportunities in Pagosa Springs by maintaining accessible groomed winter trails for skate skiing, classic cross country skiing & snowshoeing for all ability levels and to encourage and promote the use of these winter trails through education, marketing and events”.
