Last Day to Buy Advance Tickets to Chamber Meeting
Mary Jo Coulehan | 1/20/12
If you are planning to attend the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting tomorrow night, Saturday, January 21, please purchase your tickets today at the Chamber of Commerce or online.  Tickets are $40 each in advance or $45 at the door.  Seating is limited.  Ticket prices include a delicious buffet dinner and dessert corner by Nello’s Bistro, a silent auction, a cash bar, and dancing to Tim Sullivan.

Many businesses have donated items for the silent auction. There are some fantastic items including goods and services and wonderful advertising opportunities.  Attendees to the annual meeting will also be able to pick up discount coupons available for goods, services and advertising that businesses have contributed.

For the first time, the finalists for the Volunteer & Citizen of the Year have been announced.  This was a very hard decision this year with the excellent slate of nominees presented.

For Volunteer of the Year the finalists are:  Nikki Alley, Roy Melius, and James Dickhoff.

For Citizen of the Year, the finalists are Morgan Murri and Pagosa Outreach Connection (POC) with Barbara Hendricks and Don Ford.

All nominees including the final candidates have served our community in various ways and all with amazing results.  Our community is so much the better for all of the hard work from these citizens.  Come out and support the winners and see who will win this year’s honorary awards.

This is also the last week that you are able to vote for three new directors to the Chamber board.  The candidates are:  Nick Tallent with Edward Jones Investments, Chris Smith with Visiting Angels, Jeannie Sinkey with Mt. Landing Guest Quarters, Kimberley Siler-Bradshaw with Southwest Elegance, Stacy Boone with Step Outdoors, and Sara Anderson with Homespun Comforts.  There is one ballot per business and you may vote for up to 3 candidates.

Voting will continue until the evening of the annual meeting.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “A Magical Evening” and we intend it to be so.  There will be some new highlights and format, with attendees receiving more information in a shorter period of time so there is lots of time to celebrate our Volunteer & Citizen of the Year and Green Business, mingle and network with others, and dance the night away.

For more information about the silent auction, tickets or the event, please call the Chamber at 264-2360.
