PET OF THE WEEK: Beau
Kathy Steventon | 2/2/12
If humans could talk, then they would completely understand my true nature as a beautiful feline. That’s IF they could talk. I know what you are thinking. humans can’t talk, at least not cat talk. I do hear them making noises all the time, but I don’t really believe that they have language like us cats do.

I just don’t think that most humans are smart enough to put organized thoughts together. If you’ve ever seen how humans behave in the wild you’d know what I mean. Anyway, I digress. My name is “Beau”, and I’m a large male feline temporarily living at the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs. Temporary because I hope one day, sooner rather than later, to be adopted by a loving human family. I don’t care if humans talk as long as they give me my kibble food!

Do you know what “Beau” means to us cats? HANDSOME. And that is exactly what I am. I’ve been identified as a Burmese Tiffany breed of cat. Which in fancy words means that I have a deep espresso long-haired coat, with a lighter taupey brown ruff around my dark head. My fur is very long and thick, and my eyes are a clear light green. I weigh just over 12 pounds, so I’m a big and solid feline.

My very best features though don’t have anything to do with my handsome good looks. My personality is pure gold in cat terms! I’m very confident and loving, especially to humans. I get along with other cats, dogs, and human children, and easily fit into families. I don’t fight, I don’t claw, and I don’t misbehave. I just LOVE everyone that I meet!! My favorite thing is being held by humans, and I will follow them around all day long. I just love people! I’m also young, around 3 years old, and most people and cats think of me as the gentle giant. I admit it, I don’t have one flaw in me or about me. Brenda at the shelter can vouch for that!

So, if you are reading my story, do you think you could come and love me into your family? For forever of course! I’m here at the shelter, which is located on Cloman Blvd., just off Piedra Road. Give them a call, 970-731-4771 and tell them “I would like to visit Beau from the Pagosa Daily Post article”. I’ll be waiting for my lifetime family, and maybe YOU are the right ones that I will love!

Check me and my other animal friends needing homes on Facebook .
