Pagosa Springs elementary, middle school and high school art students, community members and teachers are teaming up to host Empty Bowls 2013, Saturday, January 26, at Pagosa Springs Elementary School, 141 South 10th St — right across the highway from Old Town Market
Participants will select from over 400 original handcrafted bowls, then sample delicious soups and breads from local people who love to cook.
Proceeds from your donation ($10 minimum per bowl) benefit food pantries in the Pagosa area. The bowls are to be taken home as a reminder that someone's bowl is always empty. Purchasers are asked to keep their bowl as a reminder of the meal's purpose. Every time you take your bowl from the cupboard, you will be reminded that someone's bowl is always empty — and you helped alleviate hunger during the Empty Bowl event.
In 2012, more than 300 people attended and help raise $4,000 for our community. Come and get a bowl, enjoy a meal, and share a table with other folks. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event.
