Lend a Hand to a Special Young Man from Pagosa Springs
Lauri Heraty | 3/1/13

The Alley House Grille is one of our favorites. The food is great as is the atmosphere; but what makes the experience exceptional is the fabulous staff. Proprietors Kellie and Todd Stevens, know how to pick the right people to make you feel that when you arrive, they were anxiously waiting for you and their night would now be complete!  I was sorry to hear that one of those "feel good" staff members, Assistant Manager Chris Young, was in a car accident recently and would be out of work for awhile. I did not realize the extent of the car accident and the horrible circumstances surrounding it until I read about it in the Pagosa Sun yesterday. Not only was Chris horribly injured, the driver left the scene and left Chris in a turned over car until the police came to the rescue. The Pagosa Sun reported the details in this ARTICLE.

I "borrowed" the rest of this directly from Lynne Killey, aka Queen Bee... I really couldn't say it better so here's how you can help.

Anyone that has ever been to the Alley House and greeted with a handsome smiling young man has met Chris.  He is always quick with a smile, hard working, genuine interest and kindness for others.  Christopher (aka DJ Smiley) Young - assistant manager at the Alley House Grill was in a very bad car accident on Valentines.  He had to have a rod put in his neck and will need some time to recover before returning to work.  We are organizing a lovely fund raiser to help with medical and living expenses while he recovers.  Todd & Kelli Stevens, owners of The Alley House restraurant have been very generous and are helping in every way they can.

The Back Room Wine Bar will be hosting a fund raiser with art exhibit by well known Houston artist John Palmer.  John will be donating proceeds to the fund. The event takes place tonight, March 1st from 6-8pm at the Backroom Bar.

We would love to see you there.  No need to rsvp.  Just come, enjoy a glass of wine, snack on some tapas!

If you can't be there, you can send donations to Christopher Young c/o JFK P O Box 4441 Pagosa Springs CO 81157.  Even if you can only donate a few extra dollars...  all of it will be accepted with much appreciation.

THANK YOU in advance for helping.
Queen Bee is trying to ensure we raise at least $1650 to cover a few months of rent.
