New County Courthouse

The County has not had much good news to offer local residents lately.  First they had nearly everyone with any experience resign.  Next they revealed the bad news that nearly everyone's property tax bill would go practically through the ceiling (assuming we had a ceiling, that is).  Then they lost a whole bunch of money, including all the money, apparently, that was supposed to be used to fix our horrible roads.  (The money was being kept in a large cookie jar in the finance department snack room; neither the jar nor the money has been located.  We are sad.)

So I am pleased to announce a bit of good news, for a change.  The County has purchased a new Courthouse, at a very reasonable price and in a central location, and will be able to sell the existing, dilapidated Courthouse for a bazillion dollars to a local developer.  The County expects to move in to their new digs before the first snow falls.
