While Coloradans are among the leanest residents in the country, with 45 percent at a healthy weight, obesity remains on the rise. Healthy Lifestyles La Plata, with the help of a grant, wants to learn just how fit La Plata County residents are and promote better health. The Healthy Lifestyles La Plata received $149,380. Among other recipients is Alamosa-based Valley-Wide Health Systems, which received $166,238.
Healthy Lifestyle La Plata will also sponsor a Worksite Wellness Workshop on Thursday, November 1, from 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Fort Lewis College Student Memorial Lounge.
The workshop will include local successes, a toolkit of how to get started and continue and a healthy, local lunch. Mark your calendar! |
