I’m Tux. Please forgive me if I come across as a little sad. I AM sad.  My owner-parents kept getting into fights at home all the time, then they did something humans call “divorce”.  It was a scary time for me, and sad. My human Mom dropped me off at her parents house, and she never came back to get me.  Which made me sad.  Then my new “parents” didn’t seem to care at all about me.  One day they put me in their car, took me to a strange place in the woods, dropped me off and drove away. I was so SCARED.

A nice man came along after a while and took me to the Shelter.   Continued...

The next day my new parents came to pick me up from there and they seemed really mad at me.  They took me home and wouldn’t pay any attention to me. The next day we went for another car ride. They made me get out of the car in a totally strange place again, and this time I was REALLY scared. I watched them drive away and wondered what I had done so wrong to be abandoned again.  I wandered around for a while, looking for my real Mom and Dad, or anyone who cared. Before I knew it a nice man came again and took me back here to the Pagosa Shelter. Which is where I am now.

I’m still a bit scared, but mostly sad. I’m a black labador retriever, with a calm and gentle nature. I’ve got a white spot on my chest, and deep, thoughtful eyes. I’m six-years-old and in great health, just sad. If you come and visit me I’ll be great on a leash, and I’ll want to stay close to you. I love hugs and being close, probably because of what my parents did when they left me.  I am good with kids, and most dogs, but especially with loving people. I know that I can trust again and am just waiting here at the Shelter for someone to notice me. Will you be that someone to take me home and be my committed family?

Yes? Then come get me! Please visit the Humane Society and take me for a walk, or give them a call, 970-731-4771.  I don’t want to be sad anymore and you can make the difference.
