I'm not sure the stroll was a full mile — from the Parish Hall to the Junior High and back to the Bell Tower — but there is no doubt the Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program's annual "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes" is picking up more marchers each year.  The event celebrates Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

As program director Carmen Hobbs said in her announcement publicity, "Although celebrated in a light vein, 'Walk a Mile in Their Shoes' brings attention to an unglamorous problem that exists in our community."

The supportiveness of the march was perhaps highlighted when local activist Rev. Don Ford convinced County Commissioners Bob Moomaw and Robin Schiro to skip down the street, hand in hand, for the photographers.

Marchers were invited for a free lunch at Loaves & Fishes after the festivities.   Here are some photos of the event:
