Ryan Lister
Pagosa Springs resident Ryan Matthew Lister died of esophageal cancer in Bad Salzhausen, Germany, where he was receiving treatment to help prolong his life. He died on, Monday, April 21, 2008. He was 22 years old.
 
Mr. Lister was born to Lawrence Ells and Pam Lister in Salt Lake City, on June 2, 1985.
 
He attended K-10 in Pagosa Springs, where he  loved sports, participating in soccer, basketball, and baseball. Mr. Lister earned his graduate equivalency diploma from the Pagosa Springs Education Center.
 
He worked in the construction business, most recently as a roofer, until September when he was diagnosed with cancer. He had a son with Jesika Brule.
 
Mr. Lister love BMX biking, four wheeling, and all other sports. His family said after his diagnosis he enjoyed a special big game elk hunt with his Uncle Les Lister.
 
Mr. Lister is survived by his son, Hunter Brule, of Pagosa Springs, mother  Pam Lister; sister Erin Lister, Jeremy Lister, and Mateo Scarpa. Grandmother Delfi Lister all of Pagosa Springs. One neice, Amber Rose, and numerous aunts and uncles in Pagosa Springs and Arizona.
 
The rosary will be recited at 6:00pm Friday May, 2, 2008, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs, The memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 3, 2008, also at Immaculate Heart.
 
In lieu of flowers a bank account has be set up in memory of Ryan M. Lister, contributions can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank to: Ryan M. Lister Fund, c/o Joe Lister Jr. account Number 6402693904, the fund was originally set up to defray medical cost, but will also be used to bring Ryans Ashes back to his family here in Pagosa Springs.
