It was a bittersweet moment on Sunday as the cast and crew of "The Wiz" painted over the "Yellow Brick Road" with black stage paint, tore down the set, stored stage units and props, and hung costume. Everyone involved in the show was thrilled and ecstatic with the production, yet exhausted and ready for the run to be finished at the same time.
"The Wiz" was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone in the community for supporting it. Kudos to Dan Burch for a great first musical presentation at PSHS. Big thanks to Venita Burch and Kathy Isberg for their patient vocals and drama coaching. Our orchestra musicians were top-notch! Julie and Bill Reardon, we appreciate your work and mentoring of our students as you worked alongside them with sets & costumes. Kailee Kenyon was brilliant as she stepped out as costume mistress and designer extraordinaire. Becca Stephens brought her usual magic to the stage as Assistant Director, Assistant Choreographer, Actress, Dancer, and teacher.
There were many comments not only about how much everyone enjoyed the production as a whole, but also the colors brought to the stage by Kailee's costuming and lighting design by Brad Iverson. Finally, thanks to Toby Burch (aka "Toto") for being part of our show! |
