I thought you might appreciate this article from the Pagosa Springs Daily Post: PHOTO ESSAY: Junior High Greenhouse Gets TLC http://www.pagosadailypost.com/news/8354/PHOTO_ESSAY:_Junior_High_Greenhouse_Gets_TLC/
Pagosa Springs Junior High School students worked to refurbish the greenhouse this past Monday, May 5. The students built an 8’ x 4’ x 2’ planter to be installed in the green house. This year the students have grown okra, peppers, peas, and herbs in Mr. Cowan’s Life Science course.
Along with help from school custodians Shauna Kop and Davey Belarde the greenhouse walls have been scraped and prepared for new paint, the windows have been sealed with weather stripping and an automatic sprinkler system has been repaired.
The repairs and updates to the greenhouse will allow students to grow plants throughout the school year. Photos by Melanie Cowan.
