Saturday afternoon, May 10, ladies from Mountain Heights Baptist Church and Pagosa Bible Church attended a very special tea party. About 45 ladies were in attendance from both congregations. Their places were marked at tables with a Scripture verse in the palm of a hand which read, "See, I have engraved your name on the palm of my hand." Isaiah 49:16.
The committee who planned the tea were Eve Taylor, Char Neill and Marie Rascoe. The idea from the inception was to make each lady who attended feel very special. They desired to serve them and have them leave refreshed. They were lavished with chocolates, tea and a delicious variety of delicacies including cucumber sandwiches, pecan tassies, cranberry scones and chocolate-dipped strawberries. The tables were decked out with lace tablecloths, fresh flowers, antique and collectible teapots. Ladies were asked to bring their own special tea cup or select one from collections other ladies shared.
Millie Glispey sung, "Fill My Cup, Lord." Char Neill read a special rendition of "I am a Little Teapot" poem. Eve Taylor invited attendees to share "tea cup" stories about the tea cups they brought. Marie shared a devotion about how special we are to God.
It was a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon tea. |
