May is Historic Preservation Month in Colorado — and Saturday, May 17, is "Clean Up Day" at Fred Harman’s Old Pagosa Country Museum and Park. Staff at the Harman Art Museum is looking for some help from the community in getting things ready for their Open House on May 31 — and a busy summer Old West dinner theater schedule.

Volunteers are appreciated from 9:00am until 2:00pm on the 17th to clean up in and around the historic old buildings, repair and paint picnic tables, trim shrubs and trees, and plant flowers.

Volunteers are encouraged to call the museum at 731-5785 to let them know you’re planning to help out. Volunteers should bring work gloves, dust mask and favorite gardening and clean up tools. Coffee and donuts will be provided in the morning, as well as cool water throughout the day. Helpers may want to bring a sack lunch.

Contact Terri or Bruce Andersen at the Fred Harman Art Museum at 731-5785 with any questions.
