Call for artists, photographers, crafters: The third-annual Sacred Arts Festival, September 25 to 28, 2008, seeks original works of art, craft or photography expressing the sacred, representing any faith tradition, for ICON.

The third-annual Sacred Arts Festival, celebrating artistic expressions of the sacred — representing any faith tradition — will include a roundtable discussion, and features art, poetry and music events.

The 2008 festival opens with a roundtable discussion Thursday, September 25 at 7:00pm.

Friday, September 26 features the opening artists’ reception for ICON from 5:00 to 8:00pm. The exhibit continues through October 19. Submission drop-off is September 22.

The festival is hosted by St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 East 3rd Ave. in Durango, Colorado. A concert will be performed by the selected musicians on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. Submission deadline is September 2. Entry forms are available online at the St. Mark's website, at St. Mark’s Church, or by calling the church at (970) 247-1129, extension 10 or 14.
