Are you ready? Because today you’re going to learn how to talk with the animals.

Sure, I can hear it right now. "Animals don’t talk."

Aaah! I beg to differ, they most assuredly do. You just have to go in a wee bit of a different direction to hear what they have to say.

When I considered doing series of articles, I said to myself, “Why not embrace this opportunity to share what our companion animals wish us to hear?” I’ve been talking to the animals since the early 80s through the use of telepathy, which is the ability to transfer thoughts from one being to another.

We all use telepathy daily; we just use it subconsciously. How many times have you picked up the phone and said, “I was just thinking about you”? What you’ve done is sent a vibrational message to this person; they picked it up and acted on it. Recognizing what you’re doing is the first step toward utilizing your ability.

It’s important for you to understand that as far as I know, there’s nothing I do as an animal communicator that goes against any spiritual or religious belief. This is a totally natural, God-given ability, and here is a brief Telepathy 101 practice:

Find a friend to work with; one will send, and the other receives. You can even do this over the phone.

Sit down and relax, close your eyes and take a few deep cleansing breaths. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth—to clear your mind. Focus on an object, such as a red circle or a blue triangle and send the thought to your friend. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you both can pick up thoughts. Simple shapes and primary colors seem to be the easiest to transfer. Next, try words, phrases, pictures and voice. Have fun with it! It takes trusting in yourself and tons of practice to carry on extended conversations.

I am not a veterinarian, and I am not a trainer.  I try to help resolve issues by working with animals and their people to reach acceptable solutions to behavioral and medical issues that have so far evaded conventional methods.

So I talked with some animals to get input on what they would like for me to discuss in this column, and here are some of their suggestions: stories from the heart; lameness issues; animals who need people; humans playing with animals; and from my faithful, escape artist of a Malamute, Mack, I got a flippant, ‘just stories.’ Hmmm! Okay, Mack!

The most surprising came from the exuberant, big, happy, handsome, Blue Tick youngster that I sometimes liken to Disney’s Goofy. He stated emphatically that I should share spiritual and inspirational stories. Alright, Luke!

I'll share some of the above in future articles...
