Save the date for book sale
One of the summer’s most popular events for readers is the Friends of the Library book sale.  Mark your calendars for the weekend of July 18-19.  The annual meeting and advance sale to members takes place Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.  The public book sale is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Both events are at the Community Center – note the new location this year.  New members warmly welcomed at the door Friday evening.  More details in next week’s library column.

Local artists exhibitions
As we say thanks and farewell to the work of Wendy Saunders and her students, whose photography exhibition at the library comes down today, we look forward to a new show featuring photography by Bruce Anderson and his students that begins on July 5 and will run for eight weeks. There will be a public reception either July 17 or 24.

Also, if anyone is interested in sponsoring a child for the 2008 Youth Photolearn Camp, August 4-6, you can pick up more information about the camp at the library.

Local author donates book
Pagosa author Lyman Allen has donated a copy of his book, To Save the Love That Was Lost: The Original Christianity as Derived From Historical and Channeled Sources, to the library.

The title is taken from a verse deleted from a famous parable, one the author says now is often misread as being about sin. He shares the billing with a co-author named Sofia, who he describes as “a former human being who lived a sufficiently based spiritual life that at its end she ascended … to the paradise from which we all came.”
