I am looking for YOU. I hope you read my story and come out to meet me. I’m Bonnie, a name that says it all. Aren’t I cute? What? You can’t see my face fully? That’s because I’m watching all the time for YOU to arrive to take me home. I’ve had a home before, in fact two homes. The first family didn’t take care of me very well. They lived in Aspen Springs, and they didn’t take care of each other very well either! Then a horse kicked me and hurt my leg. Ouch big time! The nice man Chris, from the Shelter picked me up and took me here. The Humane Society paid for surgery to fix my leg, and now I just have a tiny limp. That was a few years ago. A second family came along to the Shelter, from a different part of Pagosa, and they adopted me. I was SO HAPPY! I thought that they were THE ONES! Continued...
Sigh. Well, they weren’t. I heard the humans talking that they had money troubles, and soon after that they stopped feeding us. Boy, was I HUNGRY. So me and my adopted brotherdog began to forage for food in the neighborhood, we ate anything we saw that was reasonable. Of course we got sick a lot, and skinny, and one day that nice man Chris from the Shelter picked me up again and took me here. I’m sad, I’m lonely, but at least I have good food everyday, and people who really seem to care. Now all I need is to find THE ONES who will keep me, love me, and take care of me forever. Is that you?
What? You need to know more about me? O.K., geesh! I’m a mixed breed female, spayed, 5-years-old, and very friendly. I picked up a bad habit with cats at my last home, so I can’t live with those critters. But, I’m good with children and all humans and most dogs. I’m gentle and friendly and like my belly and chest rubbed. Hmmm. Heaven that is. My coat is brindle, with white feet, white tip on my tale, and a white chest. So lovely I am, if I do say so myself. People here at the Shelter tell me that I have a GREAT temperament, and who am I to say the are wrong??
I’m here waiting for you at the Human Society on Cloman Blvd., just off Piedra Road. Come on! Come get me, I’ll be watching out for you. The road signs are up now for the Shelter, so you can’t miss the place. Please visit me soon, or give them a call, 731-4771. I’ll be ready to go! |
