PSAC’s gala event, “A Night at the Blue Parrot Tiki Bar,” will be held at the Vista Clubhouse, Sunday, July 20 — Join in the Tropical Island Fun! Tickets are now on Sale the Silent Auction fun starts at 4:30 p.m. Please continue to bring your donated treasures of fine art, hand-crafted art and other art-related items to Town Park Gallery for our Silent and Live Art Auction.  Our Gallery hours are Tuesday – Sunday, Noon to 4 pm. Call PSAC at 264-5020 for more information. These donations are tax deductible. Tickets are available through PSAC, the Higher Grounds Coffee Company and the Chamber of Commerce.

Photography Club Photo Exhibit
The opening reception for the Pagosa Springs Photo Club Exhibit is Thursday, July 10, from 5-7 pm at Town Park Gallery with refreshments and music by guitarist, Stephany Bouchier. The photographic work of several of Pagosa’s finest photographers will be exhibited through July 29. The Photo Club Exhibition features the exemplary work of club members and includes photos from established local photographers and newcomers alike.

Joye Moon Watercolor Workshop
Join painter and teacher Joye Moon for another fast paced experimental workshop, July 21-23.  Joye will present all new methods and techniques on different surfaces that will enhance your artwork and take you to the next level in your artistic development. You will be the first to experience new projects featured in her new book, "Exploring Textures in Watercolor" published by North Light Books and due to be released November, 2008.

The following is a description of the workshop. Day 1: Grapes Vines on Clay Board - Explore working with real grape leaves on Clay Board by Ampersand.  Day 2: Floral Design on Hardboard - Build flowers by using a variety of collage papers. Day 3: Landscape on Hardboard - Landscape will be explored using paint, collage paper, metallic acrylic on a hard board surface.

PSAC Encourages New Members
The Pagosa Springs Arts Council is a non-profit organization which was conceived and developed to, in part, promote the awareness of the vast array of local artistic talent, provide educational and cultural activities in the community, sponsor exhibits and workshops by local and regional artists, and encourage and support continued appreciation and preservation of the aesthetic beauty of Pagosa Springs. If becoming involved in such a dynamic organization excites you, we hope that you will consider becoming a member or perhaps a volunteer. If you have questions or would like more information on joining, call the PSAC office, 970-264-5020.

Membership rates are:  Youth - $10, Individual - Senior $20; Regular - $25; Family - Senior - $25; Regular - $35.  Business - $75; Patron $250; Benefactor - $500, Director - $1,000 and Guarantor - $2,500 and up.
