Looking For a Treasurer

Archuleta County has officially announced its open County Treasurer position.
This position consists of professional and administrative level work managing the Treasurer’s Office of Archuleta County.  Work involves management and operational oversight of duties including the Public Trustee function, investments, collection and distribution of revenue, and cash management.  The Treasurer works in partnership with other employees, departments or divisions, agencies, elected officials and the public in delivering effective and innovative services.

The position will be appointed by the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners for the remainder of 2008, but will be filled for the remaining term of office by the winner of the General Election to be held in November 2008, who will be installed in January 2009.  To be eligible for appointment to the position of County Treasurer, the applicant must be a registered voter and have resided in Archuleta County for one (1) year prior to being appointed to office. This position will be appointed by The Board of County Commissioners in a Special Meeting on July 29, 2008.
