The fifth annual Cruise-A-Thong — that peculiar Pagosa athletic event "for the average Joe" — cruised through downtown Pagosa Springs on Saturday, starting a Yamaguchi Park with a 'cruiser bike' race. followed by a walk through town in 'flip-flops' and finishing up with an inner tube float down the San Juan River — finishing up at Yamaguchi Park once again. Colorful costumes have become an integral part of the spoof competition, where the "winner" is the person with the "Most Average Finishing Time."
