A Drought-Friendly Tour
Pagosa Springs Photopage | Bill Hudson | 8/26/10
Local plant expert Bonnie Sprague led a tour of the expanded "xeric gardens" located at 100 Lyn Avenue during yesterday's Chamber of Commerce "SUNDOWNER" event sponsored by Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District.  The garden, located at the PAWSD headquarters, features native and non-native plants that thrive in Pagosa's high-desert climate.  Sprague, owner of the High Plains Nursery in nearby Allison, CO is assisting PAWSD in selecting and planting additional species of flowers, shrubs, trees and grasses which can survive only minimal watering.
