| Back in January 2008, the Skaters Coalition for Concrete hosted a fundraiser for a future skateboard park to serve Pagosa Springs' increasingly varied skater population. The fundraiser featured a skate competition, food, and live music by local rock bands, and was one of many planned events; the Town of Pagosa Springs had pledged to match the total funds raised, up to a maximum of $30,000.
