| Former Graham County, Arizona sheriff and author Richard Mack shared stories about his career at the Pagosa Springs Community Center on Wednesday, August 26. Mack and six other county sheriffs challenged the right of the federal government to direct the activities of county sheriffs through the so-called "Brady Bill", taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court in 1994 and winning. Mack now lectures widely on Constitutional issues, urging citizens to elect county sheriffs who are willing to stand up to the federal government and protect local citizens from what he terms the "tyranny" of Washington DC politics. |
